osCommerce Lost Password Fix

I forgot my admin password and cannot manage my osCommerce site anymore.

Here is the easiest way to reset the password for most people.

  1. Log in to cPanel.
  2. From the Databases section, click the phpMyAdmin icon.HostGator Databases phpMyAdmin
  3. In the left-hand pane, click the database for your osCommerce (typically _osc1).HostGator phpMyAdmin osCommerce Database
  4. Click the table named administrators.HostGator Databases phpMyAdmin osCommerce Administrators
  5. You can see a list of admin users, select the one you want to edit, and click the Edit icon.HostGator Databases phpMyAdmin osCommerce Edit User
  6. Type new password in the user_password Value field; in the user_password Functions field, select MD5.HostGator Databases phpMyAdmin osCommerce Change Password User
  7. Click the Go button to save the changes.HostGator Databases phpMyAdmin osCommerce Change Password User Go
  8. Congratulations!  Open your osCommerce admin panel and use a new password for the login.
