How to Download Backup Using JetBackup in cPanel

JetBackup in cPanel allows you to not only restore but also download backups of your website files, databases, and emails. This is useful if you want to keep an offline copy or migrate your data to another server.

✅ Step 1: Log in to cPanel

  1. Visit your cPanel login page (usually https://yourdomain/cpanel).

  2. Enter your username and password.

  3. Click Log In.

✅ Step 2: Open JetBackup

  1. From the cPanel dashboard, scroll down to the Files section.

  2. Click on JetBackup (or JetBackup 5, depending on your version).

✅ Step 3: Choose a Backup Type to Download

JetBackup provides different types of backups:

  • Full Account Backups – Entire account (files, databases, emails, settings).

  • File Backups – Specific website files or folders.

  • Database Backups – MySQL databases only.

  • Email Backups – Email accounts/messages.

Click on the type of backup you want to download.

✅ Step 4: Select the Backup Date

  1. You will see a list of available backups with dates and times.

  2. Choose the backup date you want to download.

✅ Step 5: Request Download

  1. Click the Generate Download button.

  2. JetBackup will prepare your backup and place it in the Downloads section.

    • (This may take some time depending on the size of your data.)

✅ Step 6: Download the Backup File

  1. Once the backup is ready, go to the Downloads section in JetBackup.

  2. Click the Download button to save the backup file to your local computer.

🔐 Important Notes

  • Large backups may take several minutes to generate.

  • Make sure you have enough local storage space before downloading.
