How to Restore Backup Using JetBackup in cPanel

JetBackup is a powerful backup solution integrated into cPanel. It allows you to restore files, databases, emails, or entire accounts easily in case of data loss or issues.

✅ Step 1: Log in to cPanel

JetBackup allows different types of restore options. You will see modules like:

  • Full Account Backups → Restore the entire account (files, emails, databases, settings).

  • File Backups → Restore specific files/folders.

  • Database Backups → Restore a specific MySQL database.

  • Email Backups → Restore email accounts or messages.

Click the appropriate option based on what you want to restore.

✅ Step 4: Select a Backup Date

  1. After choosing a restore option, you’ll see a list of available backups with dates and times.

  2. Select the desired backup (usually the most recent one if you want the latest data).

✅ Step 5: Start the Restore

  1. Click the Restore button.

  2. Confirm your selection when prompted.

  3. JetBackup will queue the restore task.

✅ Step 6: Monitor the Restore Process

  1. Go back to the JetBackup Dashboard.

  2. Click on Queue to see the progress of your restore task.

  3. Once completed, you’ll receive a confirmation message.

🔐 Important Notes

  • A Full Account Restore will overwrite existing files, databases, and emails.

  • Always double-check the backup date before restoring.

  • Large restores (like full accounts) may take some time, depending on data size.

  • If you only need a few files or one database, restore selectively to avoid overwriting unnecessary data.
